Start with a prompt set
Group real user questions into brand, category, scenario, and comparison prompts. Keep stable samples so you can separate actual trend changes from single-answer randomness.
Measurement guide
AI search visibility should not be measured from one screenshot. Use a fixed prompt set, fixed platforms, and repeatable intervals to track inclusion and citation changes.
Audit visibility foundationsGroup real user questions into brand, category, scenario, and comparison prompts. Keep stable samples so you can separate actual trend changes from single-answer randomness.
Track whether the brand appears, whether links are provided, which URL is cited, where the mention appears, which competitors appear, and whether the answer is accurate. For early sites, inclusion rate and cited URL are more useful than complex scoring.
Map results back to pages and tasks: missing citations may indicate weak passages, missing category coverage, blocked crawling, or low entity trust. Do not let one unstable answer drive the whole strategy.
Whether you have a fixed prompt set
Whether prompts include brand, category, scenario, and comparison queries
Whether cited URLs and competitors are recorded
Whether tests repeat on a schedule
Whether findings map back to pages and content tasks
Every two to four weeks is a practical starting point. Testing too often amplifies noise; testing too rarely hides crawl and content issues.
Not necessarily. New sites and competitive topics take time. First make pages crawlable, quotable, and trustworthy, then watch the long-term trend.
